FINAL EDITION Tuesday April 2nd 2002 - Noon EST

Mike Davis falls short in his first NCAA championship game.

Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket, those nutcakes back in Bloomington are going to burn down my freaking house.

Pedro Shelled as Sox lose Opener to Jays

In other sports, Maryland beat Indiana to win the NCAA Championship in one of the sloppiest final games ever witnessed.  It was so bad, Billy Packer plucked out his eyes and washed them in acid on national TV.

Thanks to all Pool Participants for playing -- please come again next year and spread the word -- we're still shooting for a $2,000 payout.

Congratulations to this year's lucky winners.  Vernon Dent, a previous winner in past years, again takes top honors, and maybe THIS year he'll finally remember to tip the pool administrators before he puts the whole $620 down on that new Kia he's been drooling over.
CONGRATULATIONS TO: Points Money Comment
1 Vernon Dent 190 $620 Lucky bastard
2 Wolverines Bite 182 $340 Lucky bastard
3 JuanGone 180 $210 Lucky bastard
4 Mike Hunt 176 $140 Lucky bastard
5 Set Shot 174 $35 Lucky bastard

All owed money has been collected, so this payout schedule is exact.

Payout Schedule has been approved: The following payout amounts are subject to all final collections:

Prize Level Percent Amount
1st 45% $620
2nd 25% $340
3rd 15% $210
4th 10% $140
5th 5% $70

Total prize money is $1380 subject to final collections.  For ties, positions add prizes together.  If two people tie for second, they will split 340+210 = 225 each.  If three tie for second, add 340+210+140 and divide by 3 = 230 each.

Original pre-tourney total was 143 sheets.  We had one contestant accidentally submit multiple entries for 3 sheets, these were verified as exact duplicates and deleted.  Pool Webmaster plays two of his 5 sheets for free (annual tradition).  Adjusted net total number of sheets is therefore 138 x $10 each is $1,380.  The original email submissions for all winners are available for public inspection upon request - the original emails were sent to Hotmail where the date/time stamp serves as authentication of delivery.
